What it does not do
Does it work out my VAT, HST or sales tax?
No: FleetDesk, dispatch software for tour operators, has no tax engine at all, so you set a currency, it formats money in it, and every figure it shows you is a figure you entered.
There is no tax field on a booking, no tax column on the Money screen and no tax row in the CSV export.
Why it is left out rather than approximated
A tax rate is only correct for one jurisdiction, and a rate that is right for one operator is quietly wrong for the next one. A wrong tax figure that looks authoritative is worse than no tax figure at all, so the price you agreed is the price stored and shown.
What to do instead
Price inclusive of whatever you have to charge, the way most operators quote a private group anyway, and hand the CSV export to your accountant. Being right about your jurisdiction stays their job.
Currency
Currency picks the symbol and the decimal convention. It converts nothing and no rate is attached to it.
