How do I record that somebody has paid?
On the booking, press Mark deposit paid or Mark balance paid and choose how the money arrived, cash, card, transfer, online or other: FleetDesk, dispatch software for tour operators, tracks the deposit and the balance as two separate things rather than holding a card on file, and every mark has an undo.
You are keeping score of money that reached you directly. Nothing here moves funds and nothing takes a cut.
The money rail
Every booking shows the trip price, the add-ons, the total, and what is still outstanding. An enquiry nobody has priced shows no payment buttons at all, because marking a nil balance paid means nothing.
Method matters later
The method you pick is stored with the payment and comes out in the CSV export, which is the column your accountant will ask about.
Undo
Marked the wrong one? Deposit was not paid and Balance was not paid put it back. Nothing is destroyed by a mis-tap.
Paid and completed are different questions
A confirmed trip can be unpaid and a completed trip can still owe you money, so payment never hides inside the status. Anything overdue after the trip has run appears on your Today screen with the customer’s name against it.
