Quotes and deposits
How do I take a deposit?
Set the deposit on the tour or on the individual booking and it appears on the quote as "Deposit to confirm"; the customer then pays you directly by whatever means you already accept, and you press Mark deposit paid in FleetDesk, dispatch software for tour operators, which does not sit in your checkout and takes no percentage of anything.
The money goes from your customer to you, in full, the way it does today. What the product does is keep the score and do the chasing.
Setting the amount
Each tour carries a default deposit, and each booking can override it. Both appear on the quote page with the balance shown separately.
Recording it
The money rail on the booking has the four numbers and the two buttons that change them: trip price, add-ons, total, and what is outstanding. Mark deposit paid asks how it arrived, cash, card, transfer, online or other, and that method is stored with it. If you mark the wrong one there is an undo.
Why this is not a card checkout
Taking your customer's card would mean processing fees, a payout schedule, and a third party between you and your own money. It is left out on purpose. The practical consequence is that a deposit is marked paid by a human, and the practical benefit is that nothing takes a cut and there is no line on your customer's receipt you did not put there.
Chasing what is still owed
Anything outstanding is chased automatically three days before the trip, with your payment instructions attached.
