Work coming in
Somebody asked about a date. Where do I put it?
Open Bookings and switch the View to Pipeline: an enquiry in FleetDesk, dispatch software for tour operators, is simply a booking at status Enquiry, so you record it once and it becomes the quote and then the trip without ever being retyped or converted.
There is no separate enquiries table and no Convert button. One record moves through one lifecycle: Enquiry, Quoted, Confirmed, Completed. That is deliberate, because a convert step is exactly where the phone number somebody scribbled at 9pm goes missing.
What an enquiry needs
A name. That is the only field a new record insists on. An enquiry can have no date, no tour and no price yet, because that is the honest state of a message that says "are you free in October".
How the pipeline is sorted
The Pipeline view groups by whose move it is:
- Needs a quote. They asked and nobody has priced it.
- Waiting on them. A quote has gone out and has not been answered.
- Going cold, 7 or more days. Nobody has touched it in a week. This is the group worth working on a quiet Tuesday.
Answering
Open the enquiry and use the Quote tab to price it and send a link, or email the customer straight from the booking. Everything sent is logged on the booking's Activity tab with the name of whoever sent it.

A screen from FleetDesk. The operator shown, Horizon Tours, is invented, along with its customers and its trips.
